A few weeks back, my family was at my house downstairs, waiting for my dad to come pick us up for dinner.
Then there was this crying sound from upstairs.
It was a young boy, getting a spanking I guess.
But what distressed me the most was what the boy said.
It was quite loud and audible.
He was wailing and wailing away.
Everytime he gets beaten, the volume goes up.
He said this,
"I already said sorry! Why don't your forgive me?"
This sentence tore me up inside.
He reapted it many many times, each time, being interupted with a louder cry caused by the beating he gets.
He's just a small boyfor crying out loud.
He already apologised, what mroe do you want?
He even asked for your forgiveness.
Are you trying to teach your son that there's no need for 'Sorry' whenever you do wrong?
When he grows up, he's going to feel that 'Sorry' is useless.
And you think violence helps?
It's only going to be implanted in his head forever and he won't know it.
All these experienes he gets when's he's young stays in his head forever.
And when he grows older, he will be violent too.
A child asorbs everything when's he's young, whether he knows it or not.
A few days back I received an e-mail from a friend of mine.
It was about this boy who was caught stealing.
And his punishment?
To get his hand rolled over by a truck!
In the mail, were pictures.
Sorry, I don't have the pictures, deleted the mail already.
The pictures showed the boy on the floor, with his arm on the floor in front of the truck's tyre.
But what's sadder is that the boy did not cry and was willing to accept his punishment.
What is this inhumanely act?
What ever happened to forgiveness?
